We have been getting frequent inquires asking how best to keep weight off, or lose it, during the holidays. So…here are a few tried and true tips to help you enjoy the holidays, without putting on the pounds, and maybe even lose a few....
Before you head out the door, eat a few ounces of brie cheese, or ½ an avocado, or small piece of protein, or ½ serving of one of our shakes. This takes the edge off your appetite with healthy fats, and proteins, lowers your temptation and keeps you from overeating. Plan ahead.
Choose the cheeses, or the protein, or veggie horderves. Avoid the empty harmful sugar calories. If you goof, have a ½ serving of one of our shakes when you get home. This will slow the absorption of the sugars, and keep insulin from spiking.
If you choose to drink. Vodka and soda with lime, Tequila with lime are good low carb choices. Other pure forms of alcohol like whiskey, gin, rum are free of carbs. Sip them straight or combined with low-carb mixers, soda water, or small fruit garnish for more flavor. If you don’t want to drink, have a glass of sparkling water with lemon or lime!
If you absolutely are going to indulge, don’t let a small taste become a catastrophe. Just take a taste, then walk away from the desert table. Many people will “ salt “ their desert, after a bite or two, to remove future temptation. Remember: If you eat Lean and Clean, your body will more likely remain Lean and Serene.
Be strict with your weekly meals. Use Pure Body Protein for a meal or two, to compensate for the cheating or errors you make. It’s a simple, yet delicious way to cut back on calories, carbs, and put your body into Ketosis, to compensate for last nights mashed potatoes!
